Summer Camp 2024 Information
Believe it or not, but summer camp is right around the corner. Below is information on fees. In order for the Troop to reserve our spot, we are asking a deposit of $125 to be turned in by April 10th. This deposit is required regardless if you choose the early bird option or not. The Troop must pay in full by April 10th in order to obtain our early bird discount. The balance of the scout’s payments are due by July 10th which is also the deadline for physicals to be handed in.
Fees
Early Bird: $565.00 | $615.00 = $575.00 fee if paid after April 15th + $40.00 troop fee.
Above prices include a $40.00 troop fee to cover T-shirt, Tuesday night snack, Thursday night pizza, and troop picture.
Adults – $275.00 per adult camper for each 8 scouts. Additional adults $330.00
The committee is confirming if there will be a sibling discount offered this year.
The balance of the scout’s payments are due by July 10th which is also the deadline for physicals to be handed in.
Physicals MUST BE ON THE SCOUT PHYSICAL FORM ONLY and must be filled out COMPLETELY. “SEE ATTACHMENT” is not acceptable for items such as immunizations, they must be filled out on the form. We will also need a copy of the health insurance card (front & back).

Open House & Camping Adventure

Boys & their parents are invited to meet Boy Scout Troop 14 – a boy-led Scout troop with over 100 years of experience preparing young men to make ethical and moral choices through outdoor adventures.
What is a boy-led troop? The boys are responsible for planning and executing all activities & meetings, from menu planning to games & outings. This helps them develop leadership skills, learn how to work together as a team, and gain confidence in their own abilities.
What are typical troop activities? The boys go on a trip almost every month via the troop bus. In the past this included whitewater rafting, kayaking, skiing, axe throwing, hiking, biking, and inter-patrol games. In July the troop attends Camp Horseshoe for a week of fun & learning.

Strive for Five Program
The BSA is introducing a new incentive for scouts to bring a friend who isn’t already familiar with scouting – Webelos crossing over don’t count unfortunately. If that friend joins the troop, the scout will receive a limited edition CCCBSA Multi-Tool. If five new friends join the troop in total before the end of the year, the troop receives a credit towards weekend camping.
So bring your friends, tell them about our Open House happening next week and show them a good time at our camp out on May 20th.
Open House & Camping Trip
West Chester Troop 14 will be hosting an Open House on Monday, 05/08 from 7:30 – 8:45 pm at the United Methodist Church, 129 S High Street in West Chester, PA 19382. We would love for Webelos to see a typical Scout Meeting and meet the troop.
Additionally, we would like to invite Webelos and their parents to join Troop 14 for an outing at Camp Horseshoe, and spend the night or head home after a day off adventure, including a cookout by the campfire. – Please note that a parent will have to accompany the Webelos for the camping outing, which will take place on Saturday, May 20th at Camp Horseshoe.
Prospective scouts get the chance to see how meetings and camping trips are conducted.
